Dear Teachers and Support Personnel,

The Miami Public School Enrichment Foundation appreciates your hard work and your dedication to teaching our students.   We want to unite with you in meeting the needs of students in our school system.   This year we have made many changes to the banquet so that this will be a special evening to show our appreciation for you.

We are kicking off our annual membership drive with a festive Luau this year.   We are planning an unforgettable evening to celebrate education in our community.   The A-Team is planning a delightful buffet and we have fun games and teacher prizes.   So wear your grass skirts and Hawaiian shirts because we are inviting you for a tropical escape on Tuesday evening November 1, 2005 at 6:30 p.m. at the Civic Center.

As always, the Foundation is awarding teacher grants, site grants, and Robert S. Gee Phoenix student scholarships from the interest monies earned on the endowment funds.   The 2005 grant recipients and Outstanding Alumnus will be announced at the Luau.

The Foundation has established a special membership category for teachers and support staff of the Miami Public Schools.   You can become a member of the Foundation for $15.00 for the 2005-2006 academic year.   This fee entitles you to one reservation at the Luau.   Additional reservations may be made for the Luau for $15.00 per person, by calling Mary at Central Office.

Please return your membership contribution to MPSEF, PO Box 1060, Miami, OK   74355 before October 19, 2005 with your indication of whether you will attend the Luau so that we may give the A-Team an accurate count.   If you would like, you may have your contribution withheld from your payroll check with a one-time payroll deduction.   You may indicate this choice on the teacher membership form available for download at www.miami.k12.ok.us/downloads/mefTeacherAppl or email Mary at Central Office.

We are striving to help you make a difference in the lives of our students.   Please join us for an evening of fun and celebration in honor of Miami Public Schools.

Aloha,

Leslie Swan, Chairman
