The Miami Public Schools Enrichment Foundation is excited about all of the opportunities it has created for our schools and the children in the Miami School District. Our 21st year has been a huge success with numerous events held, awards given, and grants awarded. We want to invite you to be a part of the numerous opportunities and exciting events that are in store for the coming year! Since its inception, the MPSEF has awarded over $375,000 in grants to deserving teachers and schools. This academic year alone, the Foundation will award over $35,000 in grants. Teacher grants were awarded in October by a “Prize Patrol” which surprised the teachers at their schools and in front of their students. Kathy Wright, a teacher at Nichols Elementary was the recipient of the $3,000.00 Redwood Premium Grant and the Outstanding Alumni award was given to Ted Watts, a 1960 graduate of MHS. In early January 2010, individual Site Grants will be awarded to a number of deserving schools. View this ye In March 2010, the MPSEF will be unveiling a “new” event held at the Coleman Theater. Donors contributing to the Foundation at the Salutatorian Level ($250-$499) will receive two tickets to this event, while those contributing at the Valedictorian Level and above ($500+) will receive four tickets. Individual tickets to this event will be available for $50 each. This spectacular evening will consist of hors d’oeuvres and will be highlighted by both silent and live auctions. You won’t want to miss this exciting evening as it will be an opportunity to raise funds to be used for the purposes of the Foundation.
